Summer Hair Care Regimen

Summer is finally here. Now is the time to tweak your hair care regimen. During the summer months some changes would beneficial in keeping hair in top condition. Summer is also the perfect time to take advantage of a simplified regimen. Be mindful of the sun's intense rays and how it impacts your hair. A sunscreen added to products or used separately is the first step in keep tresses healthy and able to deal with the uv rays that can effect hairs' health.

Simple summer regimen :

1. Pre-poo with any light oil or pre-poo treatment. Use sparingly 15-20 minutes

2. Wash or co-wash as needed. Salt & heat are drying and damaging to strands. More frequent washes keeps hair moisturize in summer months.

3. Deep condition(moisturizing or protein conditioner for at least 15 minutes every wash. Add your sunscreen to your conditioner. (apply during air drying, blow drying or flat ironing) The chart below shows oils that contain a natural sunscreen.

4. Style - When drying detangle gently. Finger comb, wide tooth comb or denmen brush.

hint : summer is a wonderful time to try protective styles, braids, weaves, twist outs, kinky twists, etc.
Always wear a hat if you are going to be in the sun for long periods of time and don't forget the sunscreen :o)
